Poachers continue to make merry in the State, especially in the forests of Sehore district very close to State capital. After killing a tiger in the forests of Kathotia on June 5, they struck again on Sunday and shot dead a deer in Baibodi village of Nasrullahgunj. The forest department has registered a case against unnamed poachers and begun investigations.
Poaching cases have been reported in this district on prior occasions but officials of the concerning forest department remain unfazed and do not even make efforts to save the lives of wild animals.
The sarpanch of Baibodi village informed Nasrullahgunj police on Sunday morning about the injured animal. On getting information from police, forest guards of Amergunj Sunil Chouhan and RS Yadav reached the spot where the deer was lying in a pool of blood.
