Gopal to be longest serving head of tiger project

Senior Indian Forest service official Rajesh Gopal and member secretary of National Tiger Conservation Authority will not have to worry about his next posting.

The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has extended his tenure in the authority in the rank of additional director general till his retirement.

Environment minister Jayanthi Natarajan and former environment minister and now rural development minister Jairam Ramesh had strongly advocated to retain.
